This study aims to analyze the unemployment rate in Ogan Komering Ulu Timur Regency and examine the factors influencing it from the perspective of Islamic economics. The research employs a qualitative approach using the library research method by collecting data from scientific journals, articles, books, and data published by the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) related to employment conditions in Ogan Komering Ulu Timur Regency. The findings indicate that the unemployment rate in Ogan Komering Ulu Timur Regency has shown a declining trend in recent years, influenced by the growth of economic activities in the agricultural, trade, and micro-enterprise sectors. However, unemployment remains affected by the limited availability of formal employment opportunities, low workforce skills, and the mismatch between labor competencies and labor market demands. From the perspective of Islamic economics, unemployment should be addressed through community empowerment, the development of productive businesses, and the improvement of human resource quality in order to achieve sustainable social welfare.
