Abstract

This study analyzes the distribution pattern of mustahik business capital assistance through the BAZNAS Microfinance Masjid (BMM) program in Yogyakarta City in 2025 using a descriptive quantitative approach based on secondary data from the Normative List of Mustahik Capital Assistance, which includes 51 beneficiaries of productive assistance. The data were analyzed through descriptive statistics to identify the amount of assistance, allocation tendencies, and the distribution of beneficiaries’ business sectors. The findings reveal that the assistance was distributed in a relatively standardized pattern, with an average amount of IDR 2,941,176, a median of IDR 3,000,000, a maximum of IDR 3,000,000, and a minimum of IDR 2,000,000. This distribution pattern reflects an equity-oriented capital allocation strategy aligned with the principles of distributive justice in Islamic economics. Based on business sectors, most beneficiaries were engaged in trade and culinary activities, indicating that the program prioritizes micro-enterprises with stable income circulation and relatively lower risk. In addition to providing capital assistance, BMM also integrates mosque-based spiritual mentoring, thereby creating an empowerment model that strengthens business capacity, ethics, discipline, and social capital among mustahik. Consequently, BMM can be understood as a productive zakat instrument that supports sustainable economic independence for mustahik.
