Abstract

Digital transformation in the public sector encourages local governments to develop digital technology-based financial services as part of efforts to improve the quality of governance. This study aims to analyze the influence of digital financial services on local governance based on the perceptions of the people of Boja Village, Kendal Regency, Central Java. The study used a quantitative approach with a survey design. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire distributed to people who had or were currently using local government digital financial services. The sample was determined using a probability sampling technique with a simple random sampling method. The research instrument was developed based on the theoretical framework of Digital Governance, Technology Acceptance Model, and Good Governance, with indicators including perceptions of usefulness, ease of use, transparency, accountability, responsiveness, and public participation. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, specifically simple linear regression. The results showed that public perception of digital financial services was in the fair to good category. Regression analysis proved that digital financial services had a positive and significant effect on local governance. These findings indicate that improving the quality of digital financial services contributes to strengthening the principles of good governance, particularly transparency and accountability. However, this study also found limitations in accessibility and digital literacy, which remain challenges in the inclusive implementation of digital financial services. This study emphasizes the importance of digital financial services as a strategic instrument in supporting effective, community-oriented local governance. The research findings are expected to inform policy recommendations for local governments in optimizing the digital transformation of public services.
