Pengembangan Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) melalui Strategi Pembelajaran Mendalam

This study aims to develop Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) through Deep Learning strategies to meet the demands of 21st century learning. The study is motivated by the continued dominance of Lower Order Thinking Skills (LOTS), which limits students’ critical, analytical, and creative thinking development. The method employed is Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE model, focusing on the analysis, design, and development stages and supported by a literature review. The results indicate that in-depth learning strategies designed through contextual activities, discussions, problem-solving, and reflection can guide students toward higher-order thinking processes, including analysis, evaluation, and creation. The resulting product is a HOTS-based learning design with a student-centered learning approach. Conceptually, this strategy has the potential to improve students’ HOTS, although empirical testing is still required in the implementation and evaluation stages. These findings provide a solid foundation for educators to design active, reflective, and meaningful learning experiences in the classroom.
