Peningkatan Semangat Literasi melalui Program G10M3 pada Murid SMP Islam Raudhatul Jannah Payakumbuh

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation and achievements of the “G10M3” program (10-Minute Movement to Read, Write, and Share) in strengthening students’ literacy motivation at SMP Islam Raudhatul Jannah Payakumbuh. The program is carried out routinely for 10 minutes before Indonesian language lessons and consists of short reading activities, brief reflective writing, and sharing ideas. This evaluative study employed a descriptive approach. Data were obtained from existing program documents, including teacher observation notes, student literacy logs, student and parent questionnaires, and activity documentation. The data were analyzed descriptively through qualitative narratives supported by simple quantitative summaries in the form of percentages. The implementation results from July to November indicate strong participation and literacy outputs, with 216 students (86.18%) participating in the activities and 212 students (83.97%) producing reading summaries. Questionnaire findings show that 77.34% of students expressed agreement with the program, while parental support reached 87.29%. Overall, the G10M3 program contributed to increased reading interest, more consistent reflective writing, greater confidence in expressing ideas, and a strengthened literacy culture, while also reducing non-academic gadget use during learning time.
