Abstract

This study examines the integration of tolerance values through Civic Education among third-grade students at MI Manbail Futuh Jenu. It emphasizes the importance of developing tolerant character from an early age to support harmonious social life within a diverse society. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the research explores classroom practices, teacher strategies, and student interactions that reflect the cultivation of tolerance values. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation conducted in natural learning settings. The findings reveal that tolerance values are integrated through collaborative learning activities, classroom routines, teacher role-modeling, and inclusive interactions among students. Tolerance is not merely introduced as a theoretical concept but practiced through meaningful daily activities in the classroom. Students demonstrate tolerant behavior by cooperating with peers, respecting different opinions, showing empathy, helping one another, and resolving conflicts constructively. The study concludes that Civic Education serves as an effective medium for early character development when learning is implemented as a social practice. Furthermore, an inclusive classroom culture plays a significant role in strengthening tolerance and character education at the primary school level.
